Newsleader – രാത്രിയാണ് ഹാര്‍ബറിനെ നടക്കിയ സംഭവമുണ്ടാത്. തീ പടരുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍പ്പെട്ട മത്സ്യത്തൊഴിലാളികളും നാട്ടുകാരും ജെട്ടിയിലെ മറ്റ് ബോട്ടുകളിലേക്ക് തീ പടരാതിരിക്കാന്‍ കത്തിയ ബോട്ട് വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയെങ്കിലും വിജയിച്ചില്ല. തീപടര്‍ന്ന് പിടിക്കുകയും 40 ബോട്ടുകള്‍ കത്തിനശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഭൂരിഭാഗം ബോട്ടുകളിലും ടാങ്കുകള്‍ നിറയെ ഡീസല്‍ നിറച്ചതും പാചകം ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഗ്യാസ് സിലിണ്ടറുകളായിരുന്നു. ഇതാണ് തീ വ്യാപിക്കാന്‍ കാരണം. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികസേനയെ വിവരമറിയിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് അവരെത്തിയാണ് തീയണച്ചത്. ഓരോ ബോട്ടിനും 15 ലക്ഷം രൂപ വിലവരും.
