Newsleader – 1958ല് സബോഡിനേറ്റ് മുന്സിഫായി നിയമിതയായി. പിന്നീട് 1968ല് സബ് ജഡ്ജ് ആയും 1974ല് ജില്ലാ സെഷന്സ് കോടതി ജഡ്ജി ആയും സ്ഥാനക്കയറ്റം ലഭിച്ചു. 1983ല് ആണ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജസ്റ്റീസ് ആയത്. 1989 ഏപ്രില് 29-ന് ഹൈക്കോടതിയില് നിന്നും വിരമിച്ചെങ്കിലും ആ വര്ഷം ഒക്ടോബര് ആറിന് സുപ്രീം കോടതിയില് ജസ്റ്റീസായി നിമനം ലഭിച്ചു. 1992 ഏപ്രില് 29-നാണ് സുപ്രീം കോടതിയില് നിന്നും വിരമിച്ചു. 1997 മുതല് 2001 കാലഘട്ടത്തില് തമിഴ്നാട് ഗവര്ണര് ആയി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.
