Newsleader – സിപിഎം നേതാവ് പി മോഹനന്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ളവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചതിനെതിരെ ടിപി ചന്ദ്രശേഖരന്റെ ഭാര്യ കെ കെ രമ നല്‍കിയ അപ്പീലും കോടതി പരിഗണിച്ചു. എഫ്ഐആറില്‍ ഇല്ലാത്ത പലരെയും പ്രതിപട്ടികയില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തി, അതിനു പിന്നില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയഗൂഢാലോചന നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നാണ് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട പ്രതികള്‍ വാദിച്ചത്. ചില പ്രതികള്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കിയ ശിക്ഷ കുറഞ്ഞുപോയെന്നും, പരമാവധി ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കണമെന്നുമാണ് സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ അപ്പീലില്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടത്.
