Newsleader – ചൂട് കൂടിയതോടെ ഓരോ ദിവസവും പീക്ക് ടൈമില്‍ 5000-ത്തിലധികം മെഗാവാട്ട് വൈദ്യുതിയാണ് കേരളം വിനിയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം 5031 എന്ന സര്‍വകാല റെക്കോര്‍ഡില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നു. അതേസമയം, ദീര്‍ഘകാല കരാറുകള്‍ പുനസ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടും മൂന്ന് കമ്പനികള്‍ വൈദ്യുതി നല്‍കാന്‍ ഇതുവരെ തയ്യാറായിട്ടില്ല. അതിനാല്‍, ഓരോ ദിവസവും 465 മെഗാവാട്ടിന്റെ കുറവാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. കൂടുതല്‍ വിലയ്ക്ക് വൈദ്യുതി വാങ്ങി വിതരണം ചെയ്യാന്‍ കഴിയാത്ത സാമ്പത്തിക പ്രതിസന്ധിയിലാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ കെഎസ്ഇബി ഉള്ളത്.
