Newsleader – മോദിയെ പരിഹസിച്ച് മാലദ്വീപിലെ യുവശാക്തീകരണ വകുപ്പ് സഹമന്ത്രിയും വനിതയുമായ മറിയം ഷിയുന എക്സില്‍ പോസ്റ്റിട്ടു. പിന്നാലെ മറ്റു രണ്ട് മന്ത്രിമാരും മാലദ്വീപ് പ്രോഗ്രസീവ് പാര്‍ട്ടി എം. പി സാഹിദ് റമീസും മോശം പോസ്റ്റുകളിട്ടു. ഇതിനെതിരേ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഹൈക്കമ്മിഷന്‍ കടുത്ത ഭാഷയില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധം അറിയിച്ചു. പ്രതിസന്ധികളില്‍ മാലദ്വീപിനെ ചേര്‍ത്തുപിടിച്ച ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയെ അവഹേളിച്ചതില്‍ അവിടെയും പ്രതിഷേധമുയര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു. മുന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്റ് മുഹമ്മദ് നഷീദ് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ രംഗത്തുവന്നു.പരാമര്‍ശം വ്യക്തിപരമാണെന്നും സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ നിലപാടല്ലെന്നും മോശം പരാമര്‍ശം നടത്തിയവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടിയെടുക്കുമെന്നും നേരത്തേ വിശദീകരണക്കുറിപ്പും ഇറക്കിയിരുന്നു.
