Newsleader – വടക്കാഞ്ചേരി നഗരസഭാപരിധിയില്‍ ടാങ്കറുകളില്‍ കുടിവെള്ളമെത്തിക്കും. കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസം കുടിവെള്ളത്തിനായി പീച്ചി, വാഴാനി, ചിമ്മിനി ഡാമുകളിലെ ഷട്ടര്‍ എതാനും ദിവസത്തേക്ക് തുറന്നു. കടുത്തവേനലില് ഒന്നോ, രണ്ടോ തവണ കൂടിമാത്രം തുറക്കാനുള്ള വെള്ളമാണ് ഡാമുകളില്‍ ശേഷിക്കുന്നത്. വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി നേരിടുന്ന കുടിവെള്ള വിഷയത്തില് ശാശ്വതപരിഹാരം കാണാത്തതിനെതിരെ പ്രതിഷേധവും ഉയരുന്നുണ്ട്. ജില്ലയിലെ ഡാമുകള്‍ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങള് കുടിവെള്ളത്തിനായി നെട്ടോട്ടമോടുകയാണ്. കൃത്യമായ ഇടവേളകളില് കുടിവെള്ളത്തിനും കൃഷി ആവശ്യത്തിനുമായി വെള്ളം തുറന്നുവിടുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മറ്റ് പഞ്ചായത്തുകള്ക്കാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ഗുണം.
